“The pursuit of higher education is often sacrificed by members of a military family who often find the barriers to getting a degree insurmountable,” said Scott Kilgore, senior vice president of military affairs for Kaplan University Group.  “Kaplan University continues to try to remove obstacles by offering scholarships, tuition benefits and special services to military students and their families in recognition of their service to our country.”

Military Advanced Education magazine named Kaplan University among America’s Top Military Friendly Colleges and Universities for 2012 for the fourth year in a row.

Kaplan University offers a multitude of services for online military students, which includes help from specially trained admissions, academic and financial aid advisors in the Military Student Support Center.  In addition, the University reduces tuition for active-duty service members, military veterans and military spouses by 55, 38 and 10 percent, respectively.  Kaplan University offers credit for military training and experience and accepts credit from other Servicemember Opportunity Colleges.  The University also waives tuition costs for courses dropped due to changes in military orders.
